Verse of the Day
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.– John 16:33 (NLT)
Prayer
Dearest Abba Father, thank You for loving me and accepting me just the way I am. It is my heart’s desire to know You and to be known by You. Help me to live the life You’ve called me to and be faithful to You always. Lord, I invite You to search my heart and mind. Let my ways be pleasing to You. Let my thoughts be Your thoughts. Thank You for setting me free from people pleasing. Father, I come humbly to You today. Be with me, Lord, to cleanse me, to strengthen me, and to help me deal with people who think wrong is right. I want to be Your child. Not a child of the world.
Father, thank you for the calling you give each of us to live our whole life for your sake. Forgive us for how easily we seek to serve you in some things but not in others. Teach us how to do for you that which we do for ourselves. In particular, we ask that you would help us to do our daily work for you. May you be glorified in our work and may we become more like you in the process. Lord, thank you that all work matters to you. Thank you for the opportunity we all have to work as an expression of our love for you. Help me, this day, to do my work in this way. May I consciously offer my work to you as a gesture of love. And help us, Lord, as we talk about faith and work to include all of your people in the conversation. May we learn from each other. May we be challenged by each other to discover deeper truth and deeper love.
Lord, I am thrilled everyday knowing that I have eternal life because of what You have done for me. Help me this day to be Your servant in all that I do. Help me to become more Christ-like as I lead my family and friends closer to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
Bible Promise of the Day
The promises of God are yes and amen.
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV.
Prayer Quote of the day
Every true prayer has its background and its foreground. The foreground of prayer is the intense, immediate desire for a certain blessing which seems to be absolutely necessary for the soul to have; the background of prayer is the quiet, earnest desire that the will of God, whatever it may be, should be done. Only when the two are there together, the special desire resting on the universal submission, the universal submission opening into the special desire, is the picture perfect and the prayer complete.
