Verse of the Day
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.– Ephesians 6:10 (NLT)
Prayer
Our Heavenly Father, right now I choose to focus my mind and heart completely on You. I choose to step out of discouragement, step out of complacency, step out of worry, and step in to Your glory. You alone are worthy, and I thank You for the victory You have in store for my future. Gracious God, thank You for the miracle of life. Thank You for the air that I breathe. Thank You for every promise found in Your Word. You are good, and You have done glorious things! Let everything I do bring glory as a testimony to how great You are.
Abba Father, I am reminded today of the horrible pain that sin causes. Indeed, you do show us mercy. Most of all, you have done so in Christ, who has borne our pain and suffering so that we might be set free from sin, suffering, and death. Thank you for this amazing sacrifice. Lord, as we still live in a world wracked by sin and suffering, may we find comfort and hope in you. May we be agents of your good news and healing in the places we live, in our families, workplaces, churches, communities.
Today, Lord, we pray especially for families suffering from division and for parents who have lost their children. Pour out your comfort and love. Lord, have mercy! Circle me in Your love, Lord. Surround me and keep me safe, I pray, and help me to draw others to You. Erase from my vocabulary all negative words and from my mind all negative thoughts, Lord. Create in me a fountain of positive feeling and goodwill. Share Your grace through my witness.
Let me follow the giving example of Christ. Make me ready to serve; sharing time, talents, and gifts wherever and whenever possible. Amen. In Jesus’s name we pray. Amen.
Bible Promise of the Day
I made you alive in Jesus simply because I love you. God promises that He loves us and gives us life.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) (Ephesians 2:4-5)
