Verse of the Day
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles. II Corinthians 1:3-4 (NLT)
Prayer
Dearest loving Father, today I surrender all to You. Search my heart and mind. Show me if there is any area where I am trying to lean on my own strength. I choose today to trust and rely on You knowing that Your strength is perfect in my weakness. Thank You for Your faithfulness and goodness in my life. I know that through faith and patience I will receive Your promises. Help me to be ready; show me what to do so that I am in position to receive everything You have prepared for me.
Abba Father, thank You for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for my sins. Thank You that when I confess and renounce any wrong doing, that You are swift to forgive and cleanse me. I thank You for your unconditional love that takes all my guilt and casts it into the deep sea. I praise You for Your unbelievable grace You give to me. I thank You that before You made the world, You loved me and chose me in Christ to be holy and without fault in Your eyes. Thank You for adopting me into Your family. Help me today to live in this wonderful spiritual reality. Help me to be alert so that when my spiritual alarm goes off I will be quick to draw back and reject any unwise choices. Help me to realize that my conscience is not designed to be my guide but it is a tool of the Holy Spirit dealing within me. Help me to be submissive to the Holy Spirit so I can conform to the likeness of Christ.
Lord, we live in a fallen world, that our leadership is exercised in systems and structures that are malformed by sin. We find ourselves in situations where right and wrong and not clearly delineated, or where they are all mixed up. We ask for wisdom, Lord, to make the best choices in these situations. We yearn for the day when you will make right all that is wrong with our world, when your kingdom comes in all fullness. In the meanwhile, help us Lord to be faithful to you, to be guided by you in every decision we make. Let me not tempt Your mercy, Lord, but do everything in my power to live as You want me to live. Train me to be a Kingdom person, worthy to enter Your heaven when I am ready. I ask in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amen
