Learning how to pray

Ephesians 3:14-16 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, (NIV)

Paul the apostle wrote the above prayer. He also wrote most of the epistles in the new testament. He was anointed by the Holy Spirit in all of his writings.
The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to record certain prayers for our benefit. The prayers he prayed were not solely for the Ephesians and Colossians but also for us today. A good way to learn how to pray is to study the type of prayers Paul prayed.
Below is one of Paul’s prayers for the Ephesians. By rephrasing it we can make it a personal prayer. Meditate on the words as you say them. You might even want to go down on your knees like Paul did.

Ephesians 3:14-21For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 that He would grant me, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man,
17 that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what [is] the width and length and depth and height —
19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that I may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that works in me,
21 to Him [be] glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (NKJV paraphrased)
