Verse of the Day
Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.– Psalm 62:3-4 (NLT)
Father in heaven, I come to You today casting my cares on You. I choose to believe Your Word and trust that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. I give You all the praise and glory
Lord Jesus Christ, how we thank you for the cross, for your sacrifice, for your love. Apart from your cross, we are dead in sin, trapped in our alienation from you and from each other. But, by your cross you have made peace, offering to us the possibility of reconciliation with God and with others. Thank you Lord. O Lord, as I reflect upon your cross today, may I discover afresh the wonder and reality of your love. May this love transform me as I receive it and share it with others. By your grace, may I live in love even as you have loved me. Through loving, may I contribute in some small way to your reconciling work in this world.
Yet, we recognize the limitations in our knowledge of you. In fact, Lord, the more we know you, the more we realize how much we do not and cannot know. So we hold our knowledge of you humbly, receiving it as a gift from you rather than as something we have mastered.
Carry me over this last long mile, Man of Nazareth, Christ for me! Speak to me out of the silent night, that my spirit may know, as onward I go, that Your pierced hands are lifting me over the ford.
All praise, glory, and honor be to you, God, creator of heaven and earth. Amen.
Bible Promise of the Day
The LORD will fight for you. God promises that he will fight for you if you stand still.
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)
Prayer Quote of the day
Where do you run for help? When you are in trouble, what is your first instinct? Do you run to others or to God? Is it usually the counsel of another rather than the counsel found in waiting upon God in prayer? Why is this the way it is? Why do we run to man before we run to God?
