Prayer
Dearest Abba Father, I invite You to search my heart and mind. I choose forgiveness so that I can receive Your forgiveness in return. I love You and bless You today. Thank You that in all Your magnificence You have ordained to have an unfailing love for me. I cannot fathom it, but today I accept it. I open my heart to receive it. Have mercy on me, dear Lord, and fill me with Your unfailing love. Lord, today I ask that You empower me to do good. Help me to love others. Use me to be a blessing and be a testimony of Your goodness so that others may come to know You.
Thank You for the value You have placed on my life. I take time today just to praise You. I praise You for being God, for being all powerful, all knowing and sovereign. I praise You for sending Your ONLY Son to this earth to die in order to pay the penalty for my sins. I praise You for being with me every moment of every day and leading me in the path that You desire for me. O Lord, help me to be a faithful steward of all that you’ve entrusted to me. Guide my decisions. Give me your wisdom. May my decisions honor you, both in their substance and in the process by which I make them. Yet, when I fail, and I will fail, may I rely on your grace, not taking it for granted, but feeling confident that you will be working for your good in and through me.
Abba Father, you are indeed the one before whom our ancestors walked. Thank you for those who have gone before us in relationship with you, helping us to know you truly and intimately. Thank you for making yourself known to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Thank you for making yourself known to us through their experience of you, through what you did with them and for how you revealed yourself to them. Thank you, Lord, for those who helped to encourage my faith. Thank You for my family, parents and grandparents, Sunday school teachers, youth leaders, pastors, and my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you also for those who have shared their knowledge of you through writing and speeches. Help me, Lord, to receive well the faith passed on to me. Help me to pass it along faithfully to the next generations. To you be all the glory. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
