Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. Matthew 25:34
Dear Father God, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. Thank You for Your love. I know that it gives You pleasure to reveal Yourself to me. Have Your way in my life as I boldly come to You and make my requests known. Thank You for being my shelter when the storms of life rage. When I don’t have the answers, I trust that You do. I put my hope in You and receive Your peace and strength. Thank You for leading me in the path of victory all the days of my life. Thank You for hearing my prayers. I bring you my grief and ask you to help me. Today I will trust in your unfailing love. I will sing because You are good. Rescue me I pray; return the sparkle to my eyes.
Father, thank you for the fact that you can work in all things for good. Now, I definitely want to be an active partner in your good work. But, knowing that you can work through and redeem my “failures” gives me freedom from fear, from inaction, and from self-condemnation. Take my life and use it to Your will, Father. If I can be the instrument that leads someone to You, then don’t hesitate to bring me into service. Let me give to others a portion of what You have given to me. Father, help me really understand the depths of your love for me. Help me grasp your compassion, embrace your mercy and really begin to see that your love and faithfulness is unfailing. Give me a spirit of humility as I touch the lives of my friends and peers. Help me to take advantage each moment of today of all that I have in Christ. Help me not to boast about anything I have done but to boast only about what Christ has done for me.
Help me this day, Lord, to be wise and faithful in the decisions I make. May I work hard to make the best decisions I can make. And, at the same time, may I lean upon your grace, knowing that you are not bound by my mistakes, and that you can work through all things for good. Thank you for giving us the ability to reason. Thank you for Scripture and for your Spirit. Thank you for placing us in communities of mutual discernment, for giving us brothers and sisters in Christ to help us figure out what faithfulness means in practice. forgive my weakness, fill me with strength, and continually remind me of Your great mercy. Though I am not worthy, You loved me, and therefore, I am saved. Hallelujah! ” All praise be to you, gracious God, our Savior and Redeemer. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
