Prayer
Dearest Abba Father, today I lift my eyes to You for my help comes from You. Thank You for doing a work in my life. Thank You for using every situation in my life for my good. I bless You today no matter what is going on around me, knowing that You have a good plan for me. Lord, I choose to honor You in all that I do. I choose to set the standard and do my very best. Thank You for the privilege to be Your representative. I love You and bless You. Thank You for Your grace, love and mercy toward me. Today help me to really know deep in my heart, how amazing Your grace really is. Make my life a picture of Your love, Lord. I want to be one more example of Your greatness and glory on this earth. Be with me to guide my steps.
Father, I love Your word. I love serving You. But in all my haste, I must confess, I often forget to love You. I haven’t spent the time in Your presence. I haven’t taken enough time to worship You. Help me to come to Your altar more often. Help me sing thanksgiving to You and meditate on Your wonders. Might knowing and loving You be more important than knowing about You. Thank You God for sending Your Son to be the mediator that I need to communicate with You. Give me the courage each day to talk to You through Your Son and for me to listen to Your voice as I read Your Word. Help me to exalt Your name in all that I do.
Abba Father, I must admit that a lot of me wishes that relationship with you were not such a roller coaster. Sometimes I’d prefer a nice, peaceful, predictable boat cruise. Indeed, there are times like that in life. But they don’t last. Before long, I’m hanging onto you for dear life once again. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that you’re hanging onto me for dear life, my life that is dear to you. Thank you for not letting go of me when I am consumed by fear or doubt. Thank you for hearing my prayers even when they’re not especially nice or theologically organized. Lord, today I’m thinking of people I know who are in the middle of a scary roller coaster ride with you. Hang onto them! Reassure them with your presence. Bring them to a place of peace and rest. Help them to have confidence that you will never let go of them. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen
